BOTOX® Cosmetic
BOTOX® Cosmetic is made from a purified protein (botulinum toxin type A). When injected by Dr. Eric Chang into your skin, the toxin blocks nerve impulses, causing muscles in the face to relax. The result is a reduction or elimination in the appearance of expression lines, such as crow’s feet, frown and worry lines. Although here in Columbia, Maryland and Baltimore, BOTOX® Cosmetic is used primarily to help patients achieve a more youthful look, BOTOX® can also be useful for migraine headaches, excessive sweating, and eye and neck muscle spasms.

Restylane® and Juvéderm™
Restylane® and Juvéderm™ are cosmetic dermal fillers designed to smooth wrinkles, although they can also be used for lip augmentation and facial contouring purposes, as well. For Dr. Chang’s patients in Baltimore and Columbia, Maryland, Restylane® and Juvéderm™ are most commonly used to soften smile lines (nasolabial folds) and to add volume to the lips. Clear, synthetic gels made with hyaluronic acid (a natural substance found throughout your body), Restylane® and Juvéderm™ carry little risk of an allergic reaction. And, because of their unique ability to bind with water, the cosmetic dermal fillers can fill in or plump up features anywhere from 6 months to a year.
