The abdominal area is one of the most common "trouble spots" for women. Even with diet and exercise, it can be difficult to achieve a sculpted look. This 33-year-old woman wanted to improve the contour of her stomach but wasn't sure if plastic surgery in Columbia was the right choice. She made an appointment to meet with Dr. Chang and discuss her options.

Upon examination, Dr. Chang found that poor skin elasticity and excess fat were giving her stomach a rippled appearance. He said she would benefit most from Smartlipo MPX™. Smartlipo is a type of laser-assisted liposuction in Columbia that tightens the skin in addition to removing fat. This ensures smoother results with better skin tension and fewer skin irregularities. Smartlipo can be performed using a local anesthetic, so downtime and side effects are reduced. After hearing the benefits of Smartlipo, she went ahead and scheduled her procedure.

Her Smartlipo treatment took about 1 hour, and she was able to go home that day. Dr. Chang told her that she could resume most of her normal activities in about 24 hours and return to exercising in 1 to 2 weeks. Her post-op photos show a trimmer waistline and better skin contours. She may elect to have additional Smartlipo procedures for even more improvement, and she is very glad she chose Dr. Chang for treatment.
