This healthy, active 37-year-old female visited Dr. Chang's office in Baltimore for breast enhancement surgery
. During her initial consultation, she expressed dissatisfaction with her breast volume and wanted to obtain natural-looking, fuller breasts for enhanced cleavage and an improved silhouette.
During the consultation, Dr. Chang reviewed her complete medical history and examined her breast shape and tissue. He also fully explained the procedure, including potential risks and complications, as well as her numerous options: implant material, implant size and shape, incision placement, and implant placement.
Because this patient had excellent breast and nipple symmetry, Dr. Chang recommended smooth, round saline implants filled to 230cc and positioned using the "dual plane" approach. In this approach, the implant is positioned partially underneath the pectoralis major muscle, which covers most of the upper half of the implant. The bottom half is then free to descend into the subglandular breast pocket. The implant, therefore, rests both under and over the muscle, creating a "dual plane" and giving women natural-looking breast contours. He also placed the incision in the inframammary fold along the lower crease of the breast. This placement gives the surgeon excellent control over implant placement, and because of its location in the natural fold of the body, the resulting scar is difficult to detect in most patients.
These photos were taken prior to and 1 year after her breast augmentation surgery. As you can see, her results look natural, and her breasts show greatly improved contour, which is particularly evident from the side view. She feels extremely satisfied with her fuller breasts, and she remarked that her self-confidence has improved as well. For patients seeking breast augmentation or plastic surgery near Baltimore
