Gearing up for plastic surgery can seem daunting. It is surgery, after all, and you want the best possible results from it. And unlike other surgeries, you might not be comfortable asking people you know about facelifts.
The good news is we are here to help. Below are our answers to three of the most common facelift FAQs.
-
What Does a Facelift Actually Do?
The focus of a facelift is to make the client look younger, usually dramatically so. It is the gold standard when it comes to anti-aging procedures and treatments. A facelift uses incisions around the ear and, in some cases, under the chin to access tissues to tighten them. Excess skin is also removed. The result is a reduction or elimination in nasolabial folds and marionette lines and a more defined jaw.

Who Can Get a Facelift?
The best candidates for a facelift are those with significant signs of aging in the face and neck but are in overall good health. Signs that someone is a candidate include banding in the neck, sagging skin on the face, a lack of definition between the jaw and neck, the appearance of jowls and deep lines on the face. Clients should keep in mind that a facelift will not correct issues with the brows and may require a brow lift instead or in addition to a facelift.
To know if you are truly a good candidate for a facelift, schedule a consultation with a qualified plastic surgeon.

How Do I Prepare for my Facelift Consultation?
There is no one right way to gear up for a facelift consultation. It is a good idea that you go into it knowing what you want while also being receptive to the suggestions of Dr. Chang. We also suggest that you make a list of questions to bring with you, so you do not forget to ask anything important.
