Procedures Performed
This woman had previously undergone surgery with another surgeon, who performed a tummy tuck as well as a breast augmentation. Unhappy with her results from both procedures, she came to Dr. Chang to correct her sagging breasts. She was pleased with Dr. Chang’s caring manner, and impressed by the way he attended to her needs. At her consultation, she was given all the time she needed to have all of her Baltimore breast enhancement questions answered. After much thought and discussion, the two decided together on a breast lift, also known as a mastopexy.
Dr. Chang performed what is known as a short-scar or “vertical” breast lift, which can help speed healing time and in many cases provides results that that are fuller and remain firmer longer. Dr. Chang performs the vast majority of his breast lifts using this approach because he finds that it offers significant advantages that fit very well with the goals of most breast lift patients. He finds that this approach reduces operating time, minimizes scarring, lowers the risk of problems during healing, and creates a breast shape that retains an attractive shape with less “bottoming out” of the breasts over time.
This patient enjoyed the typically fast recovery associated with short-scar breast lift procedures; most patients are back to work within the week. During breast lift recovery, patients are required to wear a surgical bra for the first few days following surgery. The surgical bra is subsequently replaced with a support bandage or sports bra, which is worn constantly for several weeks. This patient is happy with her Baltimore cosmetic surgery results and is now much more confident with her look.
